Dying Light – Replay

by Alex Stadnik on Jun 04, 2021 at 11:57 AM

In the early 2010s, you couldn't browse a game shelf without seeing an avalanche of zombie titles. From Plants Vs. Zombies to Call of Duty to The Last of Us and more, the industry was flooded with the undead like never before. While some tired of the trend, there were a few standouts, Dying Light among them.

Developer Techland captivated its players by not just rehashing the mechanics of zombie-slayers such as Left 4 Dead but instead took inspiration from another kind of first-person shooter. Dying Light melds the fun of parkour action from titles such as Mirrors Edge and sets its speedrunning hero in a terrifyingly beautiful open-world. Fans are able to bounce from roof to roof to evade the undead in a high-energy fashion that still sticks with players today.

Dying Light is definitely a fan favorite, and with the sequel confirmed for this year, hype levels have never been higher for Techland's zombie series. In light of that, we at Game Informer want to join in on the fun with this week's episode of Replay. Join Andrew Reiner, Marcus Stewart, Brian Shea, and Alex Stadnik as they bounce their way through Harran and stylishly slash Dying Light's dastardly denizens.

We're going live exclusively on Twitch at 2 p.m. CT, so be sure to join us in the chat, laugh at our jokes (please laugh), and end your week the right way. Now, I know what you're thinking. Where's Super Replay? We had to take a week off to give Dan Tack a break before his next big bout with Bloodborne. But if you just can't wait for our return to FromSoftware's classic title, be sure to check out the archive of all our previous streams !

Can't wait for more from the Dying Light series? We have you covered as we recently got a new look at Dying Light 2 Stay Human , an update on the game's release , and a peek at its gorgeous collector's edition !
